![]() ![]() When the import finishes, the Appraisal module’s Browse page displays with a dashboard of information about the email archive.Depending on the size of the import, it may take some time as ePADD imports, deduplicates messages and performs a computational analysis on the email to extract metadata the archivist can use to appraise the email archive. ePADD displays another message indicating progress of creating the email archive.Check the folders you want to go forward with and click Next. When the import is finished, ePADD will give you an option to select/deselect folders in the import.This option is activated only after an import finishes. Skip the Upload a Sidecar File option for now.Click Browse to select the folder or file location. Note that this import option requires an active Emailchemy for ePADD license in order to convert the incoming pst files to mbox (ePADD’s internal email file format). To import an Outlook pst file, scroll down to the Non-Mbox email files section. Fill out all fields In the About this Archive section.You should finish processing the archive and export it before attempting to import a new archive. If the module opens to the Browse page, there is already an email archive being processed in this module. If the Appraisal module opens to the Import page, you’re good to continue. The Appraisal module will open in a browser window. ![]() While the client is loading, this splash screen displays: Start ePADD by double-clicking the downloaded executable file.In this example, the archivist will import and process an Outlook PST file. The path to importing an email archive into ePADD always starts in the Appraisal module, which opens by default when you start ePADD. NOTE: Before importing a new archive into ePADD, ensure that the previous user properly cleaned up ePADD from their session. Requirements: You need to install the set of tools on your local computer and request DRS depositor access permissions (if you don't have them already). This includes import to, processing in, and export from the ePADD desktop client followed by upload of a preservation package to your Nextcloud staging area.
